VERMILLION, S.D.—South Dakota women's basketball fell two spots to No. 5 in the latest CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major poll released Tuesday evening.
The Coyotes are led by a trio of seniors that rank in the league's top-six for scoring.
Hannah Sjerven is one of 39 players nationally averaging a double-double with 18.3 points and 10.0 boards per game.
Chloe Lamb is averaging 16.7 points and five rebounds, while
Liv Korngable adds 15.7 points and 4.5 assists per game.
Sjerven is the reigning Summit Player of the Week after a stellar 31-point and 21-rebound performance at Bradley. She's the only player in the NCAA with a 30-20 game this season and was the first Coyote to achieve the feat since 2003.
The Coyotes are ranked for the 56th consecutive CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major poll and have ranked in the poll's top-five for 25 straight weeks.
Summit League action gets underway on Jan. 2 with the Coyotes facing Denver at 1 p.m. inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center.
