Coyotes sign Ella Perras

12.07.2020

VERMILLION, S.D.—South Dakota triathlon head coach Kyle Joplin is pleased to announce the signing of Ella Perras to a National Letter of Intent.

Hailing from Regina, Saskatchewan, Perras and Team Saskatchewan took third at the 2019 Canadian Junior Nationals. She placed fifth individually at the 2019 Western Canada Summer Games, while finishing second in the women's relay and third in the mixed relay.

Perras also competed in several other sports for the Monarchs. She captured her age division at the Cross Country City Championships as a freshman, then placed third as a junior and senior. She also competed at the city championships in distance events ranging from 400 meters to 3,000 meters. Perras won the city title in the 800 meters as a sophomore. She also plays for the Monarchs' basketball team, which went undefeated in 2019-20, and quarterbacks the flag football team. Her junior track and field season, along with her high school sports this senior season, have been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

An honor roll student at Martin Collegiate, Perras plans to major in business marketing.

Perras joins Andrea Cernuda and Micah Poellet as members of this fall's signing class. The trio will join the Coyotes in the fall of 2021.
