PALM CITY, Fla. – South Dakota men's golf finished the third and final day of the UNCG Martin Downs Collegiate shooting a 302 to place sixth. The Yotes (279-284-302 – 865) finished 1-over par after three rounds in their first event of the spring season.
Ben Hicks (67-71-77 – 215) led the Coyotes on the player leaderboard tying for 20
th place after shooting a final round of 77 to finish at 1-under par.
North Carolina Greensboro took home the team title with a total score of 823 to finish 41-under par and five strokes ahead of second-place James Madison. Samford finished with a score of 853 and Old Dominion and Elon rounded out the top-five with scores of 853 and 855, respectively.
On the player leaderboard, UNCG also took home the individual title as Zack Swanson finished 16-over par with a final score of 200 which finished one stroke ahead of fellow teammate Jonathan Brightwell.
Justin Kolb (71-72-74 – 217) finished day three with a score of 74 for 1-over par which tied him for 25
th place while
Tate Arends (69-73-75 – 217) also tied for 25
th place after shooting a 75 on the final day.
Matt Tolan (72-68-79 – 219) tied for 32
nd place after shooting a 79 on the final day to finish 3-over par.
Scott Fudenberg (72-81-76 – 229) shot a 76 on the final day for 4-over par to finish tied for 69
th place.
Hunter Paugh (76-80-78 – 234) competed as an individual and finished with a final round score of 78 to tie for 77
th place.
South Dakota will travel to Palm Valley, Arizona, on Saturday to compete in the Loyola Intercollegiate which will take place over three days.
