PALM VALLEY, Ariz. – The South Dakota men's golf team finished the third and final day of the Loyola Intercollegiate with a final score of 862 to place ninth. The Coyotes (294-286-282 – 862) finished 2-under par after three rounds at the Palm Valley Golf Club.
Matt Tolan (73-69-69 – 211) and
Tate Arends (70-73-68 – 211) led the Coyotes after tying for eighth place on the player leaderboard with a final score of 211.
Drake took home the team title with a total score of 849 to finish at 15-under par and one stroke ahead of second-place Eastern Michigan. Loyola Maryland finished with a score of 851 while Loyola Marymount and Delaware rounded out the top-five with scores of 854 and 855, respectively.
Delaware's Roberto Nieves took home the individual title after finishing 11-under par for a score of 205 which was one stroke ahead of Loyola Maryland's Evan Brown.
For the Coyotes,
Ben Hicks (75-70-71 – 216) finished day three with a total score of 216 which tied him for 20
th place while
Justin Kolb (76-74 -76 – 226) tied for 87
th place after recording a final score of 226.
Scott Fudenberg (80-74-74 – 228) finished with a score of 228 to tie for 97
th place.
John Fischer III (73-76-74 – 223) competed as an individual for the Coyotes and finished with a score of 223 which tied him for 76
th place.
