Archambault scored 829 points in his two seasons at Gillette College. This past season he scored in double figures in 26 of the 32 games he played including scoring 20 or more points three times. Archambault's career high outing was against Sheridan College when he dropped 26 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the field and 6-of-9 from deep. Archambault earned second team all-region 9 honors.
At Rapid City Stevens, Archambault was a three-time all-state player. He was a finalist for South Dakota Gatorade Player of the Year and scored over 1,000 points in his high school career. He is the 3-point percentage leader at Rapid City Stevens shooting 42 percent and averaged 18 points, 3.5 assists and 3.0 rebounds per game.
"Mason is a very skilled player that shoots the ball extremely well and can also play with the ball in his hands," Lee said. "We felt like we needed to add shooting and ball handling and he will help in both those areas. He has always wanted to be a Yote and growing up in South Dakota, it means a lot to him. His father played at the University of Minnesota and was on the team that went to the Final Four. Mason was one of the top high school players in South Dakota his senior year and was a finalist for Mr. Basketball. He is very proud to be at USD and Coyote Nation will love watching him play the next couple of years."
