VERMILLION, S.D. – South Dakota men's golf head coach
John Vining is pleased to announce the 2020-21 schedule featuring five events during the fall and six during the spring season.
"We have an exciting fall set for us with four out of five events being new," Vining said. "I do believe this fall will be the most difficult fall we have ever had and that will be really exciting for the guys. We will have an opportunity at every stop to compete with some of the best in the nation. I do believe we will have a crew that will be ready to compete in this strong schedule and bring this program to new heights."
The Coyotes will kick off their fall season at the Island Resort Intercollegiate hosted by South Dakota State on Aug. 29-30 in Escanaba, Michigan. South Dakota returns to the Colorado State Ram Masters Invitational on Sept. 21-22 in Fort Collins, Colorado. The Coyotes placed 8
th in a field of 17 teams last season led by
Matt Tolan and
Ben Hicks.
New to the 2020-21 schedule is the William H. Tucker Invitational hosted by New Mexico on Sept. 25-26. The Coyotes will travel to Omaha, Nebraska to compete in the Stampede at the Creek on Oct. 12-13.
South Dakota will make a trip to Outer Banks, North Carolina to finish out the fall season at the Old Dominion/Kilmarlic Invitational on Oct. 25-27.
The Yotes will tee off the spring season on Feb 21-23 at the Loyola (MD) Intercollegiate. Last season South Dakota finished in 9
th place led by
Matt Tolan and
Tate Arends. Over the spring break, the Coyotes will travel to Arizona to compete at the Grand Canyon Invitational on March 15-16.
After two trips to the state of Arizona, the men's golf team will make two trips to Missouri competing in the Missouri State Invitational on March 22-23 and the Mizzou Invitational on April 5-6. South Dakota will end their regular season in Omaha, Nebraska at the Stampede at the Creek on April 12-13.
The Summit League Championship is slated for May 1-3 at the Sand Creek Station in Newton, Kansas.
