Six new tournaments highlight women's golf schedule

WGOLF: Schedule

VERMILLION, S.D. – Six new tournaments highlight the 2020-21 women's golf schedule announced by South Dakota women's golf head coach Brett Bennett Tuesday.

The Coyotes will compete in five tournaments including the Jackrabbit Collegiate in Larchwood, Iowa to kick off the fall season on Sept. 5-6 and six in the spring portion of the schedule including the Summit League Championships in Newton, Kansas on April 25-27.

"The schedule for the season is one that is competitive," Bennett said. "There are six new tournaments from what was scheduled last season. This gives the ladies in our program a great opportunity to get to see some new parts of the country and to compete against a variety of different teams. I know everyone is excited to get back to competition after the extended break from our season being cut short last spring."

After opening the season at the Jackrabbit Collegiate, South Dakota heads to Springfield, Missouri (Sept. 14-15) to compete in the MSU Payne Stewart Memorial. The Yotes finished in ninth place last season at the event. USD travels back to Missouri for the Johnies Imes Invite hosted by Missouri (Sep. 28-30) before taking a trip out west to Tacoma, Washington, to compete in the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invite hosted by Seattle (Oct. 12-13).

South Dakota will finish the fall season in sunny Lakewood Ranch, Florida at the 43rd Pat Bradley Invite hosted by Florida International on Oct. 19-20.

In the spring season, the Yotes will travel all across the country starting off in Riverside, California at the Battle of the Rock (Feb. 8-9) and then will go across the country to Jacksonville, Florida to compete in the Amelia Island Collegiate (Feb. 15-16).

The Coyotes will then travel to compete in the HBU Intercollegiate in Houston, Texas (March 15-16) and the Diane Dougherty Invite in Kirkwood, Missouri (March 29-30). USD will then finish the regular season in Omaha, Nebraska at the Stampede at the Creek (April 12-13).

The Summit League Championship is slated for April 25-27 at the Sand Creek Station in Newton, Kansas.
