VERMLLION, S.D. – Former South Dakota men's basketball player
Tyler Hagedorn has signed a three-year contract with the Budućnost VOLI Basketball Club in Montenegro.
"I'm excited to start my professional career in EuroCup for Buducnost Voli," Hagedorn said. "I can't wait to experience a different country and learn about their culture. I appreciated my time here at USD. It has helped me prepare for this next step in my basketball career."
Budućnost VOLI is located in in Podgorica, Montenegro, and competes mainly in the EuroCup which runs from October to December and then the ABA League which runs from January through April. The EuroCup is the second best league and if the teams finishes high enough in EuroCup then they will qualify for the top league, the EuroLeague.
The Norfolk, Nebraska, native concluded his five year Coyote career this past season. He was a member of the Coyotes Summit League regular season title in the 2016-17 season. He was also a two time all-Summit League selection and led the nation in 3-point percentage (54.1%) his senior season. He sits 26
th all-time in scoring with 1,225 points and is the 22
nd player in history to record 1,000 points and 500 rebounds.
