The South Dakota Coyotes (16-8, 13-2) play their final regular season home contest inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center against Omaha (17-8, 14-1) for Senior Day on Sunday at 3 p.m.
THE COYOTES
South Dakota is one game behind Omaha in the Summit League standings. The winner of this match will have the clearest path towards the regular season title heading into the final week of the regular season next week.
Elizabeth Juhnke, who has reached double figures in kills in all but one match, leads the offensive attack at 3.74 kills per set. The junior averages 4.00 kills per set in league play while her 236 total kills in league play are most in the Summit.
Senior
Sami Slaughter averages 2.62 kills per set while junior
Madison Harms contributes 2.46 kills per set for a team that is averaging 13.02 kills per set while posting a .258 attack percentage in all matches.
Aimee Adams, a junior, adds 1.96 kills per set and senior
Maddie Wiedenfeld 1.66 for an offense directed by senior setter
Madison Jurgens who is at 10.26 assists per set.Â
South Dakota ranks second in the Summit League in blocks per set (2.34) as Harms, who leads the Summit League in solo blocks with 22, is second in the Summit at 1.29 blocks per set.Â
Harms also ranks second in the Summit League in hitting percentage at .394 while Wiedenfeld is sixth in the league at .328.Â
Defensively, senior libero
Lolo Weideman ranks third in the Summit League, averaging 4.48 digs per set while Juhnke is at 2.87 and Jurgens 2.02.Â
LAST TIME OUT
South Dakota came back from 0-2 deficit to knock off Denver in five sets and remain perfect at 10-0 inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center.
Slaughter had 19 kills and a season-high .390 hitting percentage while Juhnke had her 12th double-double of the season with 17 kills and 13 digs.Â
Jurgens had 46 assists and 11 digs while Weideman had 13 digs in a match that saw a low number of total rallies.Â
HONORS
Juhnke was named offensively player of the week for the second consecutive week.Â
Juhnke, honored for the sixth time in her career, had 36 kills and hit .386 in the Coyotes wins over Western Illinois and St. Thomas.
CAREER LISTS
Juhnke moved up to eighth on the career kills list with 1,214. Next on the list is Audrey Reeg (2013-16) with 1,266.
Jurgens sits third on the career assists list with 4,426, a total that ranks seventh in Summit League history.Â
Jurgens sits fourth on the service aces list with 145 and is only three away from Liz Lough (1992-95) in third.
Weideman is in 10th on the career digs list with 1,268, as she just passed Hayley Dotseth who had 1,259.
OMAHA
Omaha has won eight straight matches since suffering its lone Summit League loss to South Dakota on Oct. 14.Â
Sadie Limback, a returning All-Summit League First Team honoree, leads the Mavs with a 3.71 kills per set average for a team that averages 13.45 kills per set and is hitting .230.
Mariah Buss is at 2.85 kills per set while McKenna Ruch, this week's Summit League Defensive Player of the Week, chips in 2.30 kills per set.
Sami Clarkson, an honorable mention All-Summit League selection, directs the Mavericks offense from her setter position where she averages 10.84 assists per set.Â
Defensively, Claire Mountjoy averages 4.24 digs per set while Jaiden Centeno is at 3.70.Â
LAST TIME OUT
Omaha posted its seventh sweep in the eight-match win streak, doing South Dakota State in Brookings on Thursday.
Limback had 13 kills and hit .520 while McCormick had 12 kills and Buss nine.Â
Clarkson had 37 assists and Centeno 21 digs
THE SERIES
South Dakota leads the Division I era series 16-6 following a five-set win in Omaha on Oct. 14.
