Coyotes Complete First Day in Texas

SUGAR LAND, Texas – The South Dakota Coyotes sit in fourth place after two rounds of action at the Riverbend Country Club on Monday. The squad recorded a score of 603 after two rounds.

Short Story: The Yotes sat in sixth place after the first 18 holes recording a 15-over 303 with three Yotes carding 70s in the first round. After two rounds of action, USD moved up two sports to fourth place after a 12-over 300 in which all five Yotes recorded scores in the 70s.
 
TEE OFF
  • Freshman Danica Badura started off hot recording carding a one-under after the first nine holes. She was able to sink two birdies in the first nine holes with only two bogeys for a first round score of 72. In round two, she recorded 13 holes of par or below to card a 76 in round two for a two round score of 148. This is the best first day one score the freshman has recorded as a Coyote.
  • In her first tournament of the season, Megan Munneke wasted no time recording two straight rounds of 75 to sit tied for 14th after her first two rounds of the season. The junior sits at six-over and 10 strokes behind first place.
  • The second of the freshman duo that has been a regular in the lineup is Akari Hayashi. She recorded a two round score of 151 to sit tied for 17th place. 151 is her best day one score this season.
  • Redshirt-junior Julia Hall recorded a first round score of 83 but followed it up with a 74 in round two cutting nine strokes off in the second round. She goes into the final day tied for 37th place and a 13-over 157 on the scorecard.
  • Junior Laerke Jensen recorded a 14-over 158 score after two rounds to sit tied for 40th place. She recorded rounds of 80 and 78. She recorded two birdies on the afternoon.
