VERMILLION, S.D.—South Dakota women's basketball is ranked No. 6 in the final CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Poll of the 2020-21 season.
The Coyotes are ranked for the 69th consecutive CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major poll, spending the last 64 of those weeks among the nation's top-10 mid-majors. This marks the fourth time that USD has ranked sixth or higher in the final poll.
South Dakota (19-6) captured its second-straight Summit League Tournament title and qualified for its third-straight NCAA Tournament.
The Coyotes were led by the all-Summit trio of
Hannah Sjerven,
Chloe Lamb and
Liv Korngable who accounted for 64 percent of the team's scoring. All three have opted to use the extra year of eligibility granted by the NCAA and will return for the 2021-22 season. South Dakota will return 13 of the 15 players on this season's roster and all five starters.
