Yotecast Features Mahowald, Poppe

Brooke Poppe, coordinator of spirit teams, and Jason Mahowald, head coach for men's and women's swimming and diving, joined the YoteCast as the guest on this week's episode. The YoteCast is the official podcast of University of South Dakota athletics hosted by the voice of the Coyotes John C Thayer.

Poppe talks about how different of a season this has been and how they are thinking outside of the box to try to engage the crowd and make gameday's fun with the stipulations in place due to COVID.  Poppe also talks about the growth of the Coyote Crazies and preparing for virtual nationals this season while also having tryouts for next season.

Mahowald recaps the men's swimming and dive team winning their first ever Summit League Title. He also talked about Zachary Kopp winning the honor of swimmer of the championships. Mahowald also remarks on how different of a season this has been with the extended season and how both the men and women came together to put in the work during the extra two months of the season.

But we begin as we always do with athletic director David Herbster, who talks about the transfer rule, men's swimming and diving title and the Summit League golf championships.

YoteCast is available across a variety of platforms: Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, iHeart Radio, Sticher. A new episode debuts every week. Subscribe on your favorite platform so you never miss an episode.
