NEWTON, Kan. – The South Dakota women's golf team finished day one of the 2021 Summit League Championships tied for second place. USD and North Dakota both finished with a score of 304 to sit 15 strokes back from first place Denver.
Freshmen
Danica Badura and
Akari Hayashi lead the Yotes after 18 holes shooting a 75 to sit tied for fifth place. Junior
Laerke Jensen and redshirt-junior
Julia Hall also finished day one tied for 16
th place after carding a 77.
The final Coyote in the field is Junior
Megan Munneke in a tie for 35
th. She totaled 84 strokes through the first round.
INSIDE THE SCORECARD
- The Yotes ranked second on par 4s after 18 holes with a 4.16 average.
- South Dakota had the second most pars after the first round with 57 and had six birdies on the day.
- Badura and Hayashi lead the field with 15 and 14 pars respectively.
- Hall tied for second most birdies after day one with three.
ROUND TWO
The second round is set to begin Sunday morning at 8 a.m. Munneke tees off at 9:30, Hall at 9:50, Jensen at 10 a.m., Hayashi at 10:10 and Badura at 10:20.
