NEWTON, Kan. – The South Dakota women's golf team battled blistering winds once again on the final day of the 2021 Summit League Championships Monday at the Sand Creek Station Golf Course. The Yotes placed fourth with a total score of 971 (+107).
Freshman
Danica Badura led the way for the Coyotes placing eighth after a 6-over 78 in the final round. Badura completed her first conference tournament with a total score of 237 after rounds of 75, 84 and 78. Junior
Laerke Jensen tied for 12
th place with rounds of 77, 81 and 84 for a score of 242.
Freshman
Akari Hayashi tied for 25
th after carding an 85 in the final round on Monday. She shot a three-round score of 249 after carding a 75 and an 89 in the first two rounds. Junior
Megan Munneke tied for 34
th place after recording scores of 84, 88 and 85. Redshirt-junior
Julia Hall shot a 78 in round three after receiving a zero in round two. She shot a 77 and a 78 for a two round score of 155.
As a team, the Yotes cut 17 strokes off their day two score to card a 325 in round three. The fourth place finish ties the best finish in Summit League play. Head coach
Brett Bennett has been the coach for two of those fourth place finishes.
INSIDE THE SCORECARD
- The Yotes ranked third on par 4s with a 4.43 average.
- South Dakota had the fourth most pars with 130 and carded 16 birdies in three rounds.
- Badura had the third most pars with 34 while Jensen recorded six birdies to lead the Yotes.
- Badura's 8th place finish is the fourth time the freshman has placed in the top 10 this season.
