Three new tournament’s highlight 2021-22 schedule

VERMILLION, S.D. – The South Dakota women's golf team will compete in nine tournaments over the course of the 2021-22 season head coach Brett Bennett announced on Friday.
 
The Coyotes will compete in five in the fall portion of the schedule and five in the spring portion of the schedule. The Summit League Championships will take place on April 24-26 in Newton, Kansas.
 
South Dakota will open the season in the state of South Dakota when they travel to Brookings to compete in the Jackrabbit Invitational on September 12-13. The Yotes will then travel south to compete in the Johnie Imes Invite hosted by Missouri on September 27-29, one of two three-day tournaments on the season.
 
The Coyotes then travel out to the west coast to Tacoma, Washington, to compete in the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invite on Oct. 11-12. The Yotes finish out the fall schedule at two new tournaments in the Ptarmigan Ram Classic hosted by Colorado State (Oct. 18-19) and at the Grandover Fall Classic hosted by UNC Greensboro (Nov. 1-2).
 
In the spring, USD travels to Rio Verde, Arizona for a new tournament on the Coyote schedule. The Yotes compete at the three day Rio Verde Invite hosted by Western Michigan on February 25-27.
 
Finishing off the spring season are tournaments familiar to the Coyotes in the HBU Women's Invite hosted by Houston Baptist (March 14-15), the Diane Daugherty Invite hosted by Southern Illinois (March 28-29) and the Stampede at the Creek hosted by Omaha (April 11-12).
 
The Coyotes will then travel to Newton, Kansas for the Summit League Championships on April 24-27. Last season, the Yotes placed fourth with a three-round score of 971.
 
South Dakota returns all but one golfer and welcomes in freshman Paige Hoffman. Sophomore Danica Badura returns for year two after earning Second-Team All-Summit League honors in her freshman season.
