VERMILLION, S.D. – The South Dakota women's golf team will open the 2021 fall campaign Monday and Tuesday. The Yotes will travel to Brookings to compete in the 10-team Jackrabbit Intercollegiate at the Brookings Country Club.
Play Monday will consist of 36 holes, with tee times starting at 8:30 a.m. Start time for the 18-hole final round on Tuesday has yet to be determined. Scoring updates will be posted at
Golfstat.com. The par-72 course will play from 6,255 yards.
The tournament field consists of the following 10 teams: Cal State Fullerton, North Dakota North Dakota State, Northern Iowa, Omaha, St. Thomas, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, South Dakota State, Wisconsin-Green Bay.
USD will feature a lineup that includes sophomore
Danica Badura, senior
Laerke Jensen, senior
Liz Duncan, junior
Jalea Culliver and freshman
Paige Hoffman. Sophomore
Akari Hayashi, senior
Megan Munneke, senior
Molly Fossen and senior
Emma Sabbagh will compete as individuals for the Yotes. Hoffman makes her Coyote debut in the lineup Monday.
South Dakota returns all but one golfer from last season in
Julia Hall. Badura and Hayashi as well as Jensen return as the top three golfers from last season's fourth place finish at the Summit League tournament.
Badura led the squad with a 76.61 stroke average while Hayashi (77.89) and Jensen (78.17) were second and third on the team. Badura had two top-five finishes while Hayshi had one top five finish a season ago.
