Max Schmidtke recorded a very impressive showing tying for ninth place to lead the Yotes. As a team, USD placed 11
th.
Schmidtke shook off a first round score of 80 to shoot a 73 and a 71 in rounds two and three to record a new Coyote best 224. He ranked third among all golfers with 32 pars in the three rounds. He improved his score by nine strokes from the first round to the final round Tuesday afternoon.
Ian Johnston,
Ryan Neff and
Hunter Rebrovich all tied for 46
th place with scores of 239 after three rounds Tuesday afternoon. Johnston carded rounds of 78, 86 and 75 while Neff had scores of 81, 80 and 78 and Rebrovich carded rounds of 79, 82 and 78.
Ben Hicks was sidelined and did not compete after an injury in the first round on Monday.
Inside the Scorecard
- Schmidtke's score of 224 was the lowest of the season thus far and lowest of his career as a Coyote. He was a few strokes off his collegiate best of 219.
- Schmidtke's final round score of 71 is also the lowest score in a round for the Yotes this season.
- Neff and Rebrovich recorded their lowest three round score of the season.
- Among all teams, USD was the second best on Par 3s and Par 4s throughout the three days.
