Lin tabbed as head diving coach

VERMILLION, S.D. – South Dakota head men's and women's swimming and diving coach Jason Mahowald is pleased to announce the addition of Pei Lin to the coaching staff as head diving coach.

Lin, a 2018 graduate Miami (Ohio) University, comes to South Dakota after having coached at Ohio State University while working on her master's degree in sport coaching.

"We are really excited to have Pei join our program," Mahowald said. "Her background and experiences as a diver and coach, will definitely help bring our diving program to the next level.

"The future of Coyote Diving program is bright!"

Lin, a Chinese National Champion diver, was a four-year standout diver for the Redhawks, three times finishing as NCAA national runner-up in the three-meter competition. The seven-time NCAA All-American was named Mid-American Conference Diver of the Year four times after winning seven of eight MAC diving titles throughout her career.

Lin spent two seasons as an assistant diving coach at Ohio State, coaching three Big Ten Champions and had six divers qualify for the 2021 NCAA Championships.

South Dakota begins its 2022 portion of its schedule with Summit League duals at St. Thomas on Friday evening (6 p.m.) and Saturday morning (10 a.m.).
