South Dakota men's and women's swimming and diving teams head to Fargo, North Dakota to participate in the Summit League Championships inside the Hulbert Aquatic Center.
TEAMS
The six-team Summit League field includes Denver, Eastern Illinois, Omaha, St. Thomas, South Dakota, South Dakota State.
SCHEDULE
Spread out over four days, there will be 14 individual events, five relays and two diving competitions for both men and women.
LAST YEAR
South Dakota men won its first-ever Summit League Championship last season, ending a Denver seven-year reign. The Coyote men's team, behind the strength of 12 seniors (academically), have finished second or better four straight seasons.Â
Leading the pack for the men are junior
Zachary Kopp, last year's Summit League men's swimmer of the year, and senior
Charlie Bean, who earned All-Summit League honors in six events (two individual and four relays).
Kopp won five Summit League titles (two individual, three relay), becoming the first Coyote to ever win two individual Summit League titles in same season.Â
The Coyote men return 12 All-Summit League performers from last year's title team.Â

Aidan Gantenbein (100 fly),
Jake Leichner (200 breast) and
Mack Sathre (100 IM) all won individual Summit League titles in 2021.Â
The Coyote men also won three of the five relays, the 200 free, 400 free and 200 medley.
The Coyote women, meanwhile, return 11 All-Summit League performers from last year's third-place finish.
Stella Fairbanks, a sophomore, won the one-meter diving competition while finishing second on the three-meter board.Â
WHO TO WATCH
Kopp, Bean and freshman
Adam Fisher all earned Summit League men's swimmer of the week honors once during the season.Â
William Johnston, a senior, was a Men's Diver of the Week honoree during the season.
Cassie Ketterling, a senior, and
Emily Kahn, a freshman, are each ranked in the top 10 in the Summit League in three events.Â
Kahn earned Summit League Women's Swimmer of the Week honors once during the season while
Stella Fairbanks was honored five times as the Women's Diver of the Week.
Naomi Bingham and
Sydney Fulton, a pair of seniors, lead a six-diver contingent for the Coyote women.
