RIO VERDE, Ariz. – South Dakota women's golf wrapped up day one of competition at the Rio Verde Invite. The Coyotes shot a 308 in round one and are in ninth place after the first 18 holes.

Danica Badura shot an even 72 in day one to pace the Coyotes. Badura finished the back nine with two birdies and entered the front at 1-over halfway through her round. She scored a birdie on her final hole of the afternoon to earn a tie for 6th place individually after day one.

Akari Hayashi recorded a 6-over par 78 in his first round. Hayashi picked up her two birdies on the final four holes including her final hole of the afternoon.

Laerke Jensen and
Paige Hoffman both carded scores of 7-over 79 on Friday. Hoffam recorded two birdies on the day while Jensen sank a birdie on hole two. Making her spring debut,
Megan Munneke finished at 8-over 80 in the opening round. Munneke sank a birdie on hole nine to close out her front nine.

Round two of the Rio Verde Invite is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. CT Saturday morning. Day two will begin with another shotgun start at White Wing Golf Course.
