SUGAR LAND, Texas – South Dakota completed the first two rounds of the HBU Huskies Women's Invite down in Sugar Land, Texas, Monday. The Coyotes compiled a 36-hole score of 620 and sit in a tie for fourth place heading into the final round tomorrow morning.
 
Akari Hayashi, Molly Fossen, and Megan Munneke each scored a 156 in day one and are in a tie for 20th place with one round remaining. Both Hayashi and Fossen recorded identical rounds in day one with rounds of 77 and 79. Hayashi scored four birdies in round one including three straight birdies from hole one to hole three. In the second round, she sank two birdies on the back nine to finish with a 7-over par 79. Fossen had a consistent first 18 with a 5-over par 77. She scored one birdie in the opening round before sinking two in the second round on her way to a 7-over 79.
 
Munneke recorded the lowest round for the Coyotes in round one with a 3-over par 75. She carded three birdies in the round with back-to-back birdies on hole two and three. Munneke followed her first round with a 9-over par 81 in round two to join Hayashi and Fossen in a tie for 20th place individually after the first day.
 
Laerke Jensen carded the lowest round for USD in round two after a tough opening 18. Jensen recorded an 83 in round one and bounced back with a 4-over par 76 in round two. She started her second trip around the course with seven straight pars and sank her lone birdie of the round on hole 14. Jensen is tied for 36th place after a 159 two-round score.
 
Danica Badura had her best round of the day in the opening 18 with a 4-over par 76. She scored an 87 in round two and is in 52nd place individually. Badura sank two birdies on the day – both in round one.
 
The third and final round is set to begin at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow morning. Tuesday will be a shotgun start from Riverbend Country Club.
