South Dakota Concludes Twin Oaks Intercollegiate

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – South Dakota completed the final round of action at the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate tournament. With weather shortening the first day, players wrapped up their second round today to conclude the 36-hole tournament. The Coyotes shot a 9-over par 293 in the second round for 602 total team score and a 16th place finish. Junior Max Schmidtke paced the team with a top 20 finish.
 
Schmidtke compiled a two-round score of 144 (73-71) for a tie for 19th place individually. He carded three birdies in the second round and finished the back nine without any damage. Schmidtke averaged the fifth-best scoring average on par three holes with an even three-stroke average. His 19th place finish is his highest placement of the spring season.
 
Nick LaMotte capped the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate with his best round of the season. LaMotte carded four birdies in the last round with three of those coming on the back nine on his way to an even-par 71. He tied with Schmidtke with the fifth-best scoring average on par three holes with an even par average throughout the tournament. His two-round total of 147 (76-71) earned him a tie for 39th place individually – his best placement of the season.
 
Hunter Rebrovich recorded rounds of 74 and 75 for a 149 total. Rebrovich sank two birdies in the final round and compiled five total for the tournament. He finished in a tie for 51st place individually.
 
Ryan Neff completed his tournament with a 74 in round two. His two birdies of the round came on the front nine where he was 1-under par on the front. Neff placed in a tie for 72nd place with a 154 (80-74) total.
 
Ian Johnston scored a 6-over par 77 in the second round to close out the tournament. Johnston scored his lone birdie of the day on hole one. His rounds of 82 and 77 (159) placed him in 85th place individually.
 
Logan Hamak knocked off 16 strokes from his previous round in round two with a 2-over par 73, tied for his best round of the season. Hamak sank three birdies in four holes on the front nine on his way to a 3-under par front nine. His two-round total of 162 (89-73) placed him in 88th place individually.
 
South Dakota will get nearly three weeks off from competition before its next tournament at the Stampede at the Creek. The two-day event in Omaha, Nebraska, starts on April 11.
