Coyotes Finish First Two Rounds at Stampede at the Creek

ELKHORN, Neb. – The South Dakota men's golf team completed the first two rounds at the Stampede at the Creek on Monday. The Coyotes are in sixth place after shooting a 294 and 291 in rounds one and two. The final round will start with tee times at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow from Indian Creek Golf Course. Three Coyotes are in a tie for 22nd place after day one with Nick LaMotte leading the way for USD.
 
LaMotte recorded rounds of 71 and 74 in day one in Elkhorn. The 71 in round one was one stroke shy of tying his career-best round. LaMotte scored two birdies each in both rounds and is tied for 14th place after day one.
 
Max Schmidtke completed his first rounds with a 74 in round one and a 73 in round two. Schmidtke sank three birdies in round one before scoring one in round two. He placed himself in a tie for 22nd place individually after the first day of action.
 
Hunter Rebrovich is the second Coyote in a tie for 22nd place. Rebrovich carded rounds of 76 and 71 in his first two rounds at Indian Creek Golf Course. He scored four birdies in each round including back-to-back birdies on holes 10 and 11 in round one. His eight birdies total is tied for fifth-most among all players.
 
Ian Johnston is the third Coyote in a tie for 22nd place individually after the first two rounds. Johnston recorded rounds of 73 and 74 in the first day. He carded a clean back nine in round one with two birdies and carded two more birdies in round two on his way to a 3-over par day one.
 
Ryan Neff scored rounds of 76 and 74 in his first day of action. Neff sank two birdies in each round for a 6-over par total score. He is in 36th place individually with one round to go.
 
Logan Hamak bounced back from an 80 in round one with a 73 in round two. Hamak recorded one birdie in the first round and two on the back nine of the second round. He is in a tie for 40th place with a 9-over par total score.
