Haamer earns second team All-America at NCAAs

EUGENE, Ore.—Sophomore Eerik Haamer placed 13th in the men's pole vault for second-team All-America accolades Wednesday evening at the NCAA Championships held at Hayward Field.

Haamer cleared 17-8 ½ (5.40m) on a third attempt to finish in 13th place. Tonight marked Haamer's first trip to Hayward Field for the NCAA Outdoor Championships. He's garnered three All-America accolades in his career with the other two coming in the indoor season. Haamer was one of five underclassmen to place in the top-16 tonight.

The women take the stage tomorrow at Hayward Field with Marleen Mülla and Jaidyn Garrett competing in the women's pole vault at 8 p.m. (CDT).
