LAWRENCE, Kansas – South Dakota swimming and diving came away with eight victories and 32 top three finishes during a two-day double dual against Kansas and Summit League member Lindenwood inside the Robinson Natatorium on the Kansas campus.

The Coyote women won four events, two individual and two relays while the men's team produced three individual wins and one relay victory.

Joaquin Contreras-Fallico, a freshman, produced a season-best time of 1:50.81 in winning the 200 back while moving up one spot to fourth on the school's all-time chart in the process.

Matthew Sorbe, a sophomore, won the 500 free while
Jack Berdahl, a junior, claimed the 200 breast and the South Dakota men claimed the 400 free relay to close the meet behind the foursome of
Aidan Gantenbein, Contreras-Fallico,
Mack Sathre and
Zachary Kopp.

Sorbe, the school record holder in the 500 free, touched the wall in 5:09.05 while Berdahl, the school record holder in the 200 breast, was clocked in 2:06.98.

Contreras-Fallico (100 back), Sorbe (1000 free) and Berdahl (100 breast) all posted runner-up performances as well along with Gantenbein (200 back), Sathre (400 IM) and Kopp twice (100 free, 50 free).

South Dakota men posted runner-up finishes in the 800 free relay, 200 free relay and 200 medley relay.

Contreras-Fallico, Berdahl, Sathre and Kopp swam in the 200 medley relay in 1:31.79 while Gantenbein,
Jacob Carlson, Sathre and Kopp competed in the 200 free relay. The quartet of Sorbe,
Parker Sonnabend,
Tanner Reed and Carlson made up the 800 free relay unit.

Emily Kahn and
Taylor Buhr came away with individual victories to pace the Coyote women's team, who also claimed the 800 free relay and 400 free relay.

Kahn touched the wall first in the 50 free in 24.07 while Buhr won the 200 breast in 2:21.61.

The foursome of
Gabbie Ahrendt,
Skyler Leverenz,
Tatum O'Shea and Kahn won the 400 free relay in 3:29.66 while the quartet of Ahrendt, O'Shea, Leverenz and
Taylor Horan claimed the 800 free relay in 7:40.40.

Kahn was the runner-up in the 100 free, Ahrendt finished second in the 200 free and
Camilla Brogger-Andersen placed second in the 1000 free. Kahn, Leverenz,
Sara Mayer and Ahrendt finished second in the 200 free relay.

Third-place finishes came from O'Shea (200 free), Buhr (100 breast), Brogger-Andersen (500 free) and Mayer twice (200 fly, 100 fly) on the women's side. Sonnabend (200 free, 200 breast) and Carlson (100 fly, 100 free) recorded third place efforts for the South Dakota men.

The Coyote women's team will host Iowa State in its lone home dual of the fall semester on Friday at 5 p.m. inside the DakotaDome Pool.
