SIOUX FALLS – South Dakota swimming and diving team members Sara Mayer and Kayla Middaugh have been selected as the TicketSmarter Summit League Peak Performers of the Week the league announced on Tuesday.
 
Mayer, a junior from Wausau, Wisconsin, earns her first career Summit League Women's Peak Swimmer of the Week honor. She posted six top five finishes over the course of the two-day Coyote Extravaganza held at the Midco Aquatic Center.
 
Mayer won the 100 fly in 56.75 and placed third in the 50 free in 24.70 while also helping South Dakota relay units place first in the 400 medley, second in the 200 medley and 400 free and fifth in the 200 free.
 
Middaugh, a senior from Shawnee, Kansas, swept the diving competition at the Coyote Extravaganza to earn her first career Summit League Women's Peak Diver of the Week award.
 
She scored 248.45 points on the one-meter board and posted a season high of 255.90 on the three-meter board to register her first individual wins of the season.
 
South Dakota will be back in action on Wednesday, November 15 as they take part in a 50-meter long course meet at Midco Aquatic Center.
