VERMILLION, S.D.—South Dakota captured a pair of field event titles and broke a pair of Summit League Championship meet records in the 60 meters to highlight Saturday's action on Mildred J. Hillenbrand Memorial Track inside the DakotaDome.
Fourth-year junior
Lydia Knapp captured her first Summit title on Saturday to lead a pack of Yotes scoring 26 points in the weight throw. She took the gold with a throw of 67-2 ¾ (20.49m). It marks USD's first title in the event since 2019. Sophomore
Delaney Smith joined her on the podium with a runner-up finish in 66-1 (20.14m), earning all-Summit honors. Sophomore
Kenzie Campbell launched the weight a personal best of 63-9 ½ (19.44m) for fourth place. Fourth-year junior
Meredith Clark took sixth place, also posting a personal best of 61-8 ¼ (18.80m).
South Dakota captured its seventh-straight title in the men's pole vault with fourth-year junior
Marshall Faurot taking gold in 17-0 (5.18m). It was Faurot's first individual title. Defending champion
Eerik Haamer finished runner-up with the same height of 17-0 (5.18m) for all-Summit honors in his third-straight season. Sophomore
Spencer Buley took fourth with a clearance of 16-8 (5.08m). Third-year sophomore
Tre Young tied for fifth with a height of 16-2 ¼ (4.93m). The Coyotes racked up 25.5 points in the event.
In the men's and women's 60 meters, the Coyote tandem of fourth-year junior

Erin Kinney blew away the records. Both set Summit League Championship meet records, South Dakota school records and DakotaDome facility records. Kautz clocked 6.64 seconds and Kinney notched 7.24 seconds.
South Dakota sits in second place for both the men's and women's team races. The Coyote women have 46 points to North Dakota's 53. USD's men have 45.5 points to South Dakota State's 54.
Freshman
Bennett Schwenn earned all-Summit honors in the long jump with a leap of 23-7 ½ (7.20m).
Freshman
Matayah Yellowmule kicked off her first conference meet with a fourth-place finish in the long jump. She leaped 18-10 ¾ (5.76m).
Fifth-year senior
Liberty Justus placed fourth in the pentathlon for the second-straight year. She scored a personal best total of 3,561 points across five events. She ranks fifth in USD history.
Third-year sophomore
Abrielle Jirele placed fourth in the 3,000 meters with a clocking of 9:51.02.
Seven men finished under the DakotaDome record in the men's 3,000-meter run with South Dakota fifth-year senior
Merga Gemeda placing sixth in 8:16.11.
The Coyote women's distance medley relay of

Helen Gould finished just off the podium in fourth place with a time of 12:09.51. On the men's side,
Dylan Blake, Tommy Nikkel,
Luke Olson and
Riley Ruhaak combined for sixth place with a time of 10:43.01.
Through four events in the men's heptathlon, fourth-year sophomore
Wyatt Lubarski sits in second place with 2,967 points. Three events remain tomorrow as Lubarski looks to repeat as all-Summit in the heptathlon.
