South Dakota completed the first 36 holes of the Jackrabbit Invitational Monday at Boulder Creek Golf Club. It was the first tournament of the spring with 36 holes in one day. The Coyotes shot a 300 in round one and a 296 in round two to end day one in a tie for eighth place. Two Coyotes finished the day in the top-30 individually and three more are in the top-40 heading into the final round tomorrow morning.
 
Akari Hayashi scored an even-par 72 in round one and a four-over par 76 in round two. She had five birdies on the day with three of them in round one. Hayashi's 148 total score placed her in a tie for 28th place.
 
Catie Nekola recorded a five-over par 77 in round one before bouncing back with a one-under par 71 in round two. Her second-round score was the lowest posted for South Dakota on day one. Nekola led the team with nine birdies on the day with five in the first 18 holes. She is tied with Hayashi for 28th place individually.
 
Danica Badura had rounds of 76 and 75 in day one at the Jackrabbit Invitational. Badura carded four birdies on the day with three of them coming in round one. She sits in a tie for 40th place entering the final round of play.
 
Molly Fossen had rounds of 75 and 76 in the first two rounds of play. Fossen's two birdies of the day came on the par-four seventh hole in round one and the par-four 15th hole in round two. She is tied for 40th place individually after two rounds.
 
Emma Henningsson scored rounds of 77 and 74 on Monday. She had five birdies on the day with three carded in the second round. Henningsson joins Badura and Fossen in a tie for 40th place entering the third round tomorrow.
 
Alexa Wingnean recorded rounds of 84 and 83 in her first action of the spring. Wingnean's three birdies all came in the second round. Her third birdie of the second round was on the par-three 17th hole which was her last hole of the day. Wingnean is in 77th place playing as an individual for USD.
 
The third and final round begins at 8 a.m. PT tomorrow morning in Boulder City, Nevada. Tomorrow's round will be a shotgun start.
