Jason Mahowald is pleased to announce the addition of 21 individuals, 10 women and 11 men, set to join the program for the 2024-25 school year.

Nellie Dalsin | Diving | New Prague, Minn.
A three-time state qualifier in Minnesota Class A for New Prague High School. She posted a career-best over 11 dives with a score of 380.75 at the 2023 state meet. She placed third as a junior in 2022 with a score of 348.75 to earn all-state honors. The three-time New Prague diver of the year and two-time section 1A diver of the year is a National Honor Society and German National Honor Society member. The A honor roll student also competed in lacrosse and track and field at New Prague. The daughter of Matt and Emily Dalsin plans to major in nursing at South Dakota.

Emily DiProspero | Distance Freestyle | Mt. Pleasant, Wis.
DiProspero is the 2022 Wisconsin Open Water Swimmer of the Year and a two-time Open Water state champion. Competed in three events, the 50 free, 200 free and 400 free, at the 2023 USA Swimming Futures Championships, placing eighth in the 400 free. Finished sixth in the 2023 Central Zone Open Water Championships. Placed in the top 10 in four events at the 2023 Wisconsin Senior Shorts Course Championship, winning the 1650 free while finishing third in the 1000 free, fifth in the 500 free and 10
th in the 200 free. The Walden (Ill.) high school student owns personal bests of 1:52.02 (200 free), 5:01.37 (500 free), 10:19.90 (1000 free) and 17:17.62 (1650 free). The daughter of Wendy DiProspero plans to major in medical biology at South Dakota.

Hailey Eriksen | Diving | Omaha, Neb.
A two-time state qualifier on the one-meter diving board while competing for Marian High School in Nebraska's one class system. She placed 13
th as a junior in 2023 with a score of 354.90 over 11 dives in the finals. The National Honor Society member owns a career best of 410 over 11 dives from the 2023 Metro Conference Championships. She has competed in the USA Diving Junior Region Championships with her club team, Midwest Diving Academy. The team captain, varsity letter holder and Athletic-Academic Scholar is involved in numerous clubs and organizations at Marian. The daughter of Josh and Sheila Eriksen plans to study medical biology at USD.

Madilyn Gehrke | Breast-IM | Hutchinson, Minn.
A 10-event state meet finalist over her final three seasons competing for Hutchinson High School in Minnesota Class A. Finished third in the 100 breast at the state meet all three seasons while posting a personal best 1:04.60 as a senior in 2023. Was the state runner-up in the 100 free as a senior in a personal best 50.88 after finishing third as a junior. Helped the Tigers win the state title in the 200 medley relay and to a second-place finish in the 200 free relay as a sophomore when the team finished as state runners-up. The All-American, All-State and All-Conference swimmer is a National Honor Society member and honor roll student. Also competed in trap shooting while in high school. The daughter of Eric and Kari Gehrke will study either biology or chemistry at South Dakota.

Dylan Hogenson | Breast-IM | Urbandale, Iowa
Competed in seven state meet events over her final three seasons while helping Waukee High School win three straight Iowa one-class state championships. Swam on a state winning 200 medley relay as a senior while also finishing fifth in the 200 IM and 15
th in the 100 breast. Was seventh in the 200 IM as a junior and seventh in the 100 breast as a sophomore. She was an Academic All-Conference selection and a state golf participant as a student for Waukee Northwest. Competed in seven individual events while recording three top eight finishes at the Iowa Long Course State Championships in 2023. Owns personal bests of 1:05.47 (100 breast) and 2:08.65 (200 IM). The daughter of Chet and Allison Hogenson plans to study medical biology at USD.

Ashley Koenig | Distance Freestyle | Fayetteville, Ark.
Koenig is a distance swimmer for Razorback Aquatic Club where she competed in three events, the 400 free, 800 free and 1500 free at the USA Swimming Futures Long Course Championships in 2023, after competing in four events at the meet in 2022. She was a five-event top six finisher, including runners-up swims in the 500, 1000 and 1650 free, at the Arkansas Senior LC Championships in 2023. Competing for Fayetteville High School at the 2022 state meet she was third in the 500 free and fifth in the 200 free and swam on a fourth-place 400 free relay. The National Honor Society member owns personal bests of 1:54.87 (200 free), 5:00.24 (500 free), 10:13.98 (1000 free) and 17:09.72 (1650 free). The daughter of Gary and Heather Koenig plans to study nursing at USD.

Chloe Miller | Free-Fly | Carl Junction, Mo.
A four-event state meet participant in each of her first three seasons competing for Carl Junction High School in Class 1 of Missouri's two-class system. Was the state champion in the 50 free as a junior after finishing second as a sophomore and fifth as a freshman. Finished fifth in the 100 free during her junior season after placing sixth as a sophomore. She's a 10-time all-stater (top eight state placer) with four as a junior and three apiece during her sophomore and freshman seasons. The Academic All-Stater was an 11-time conference champion and owns personal bests of 23.60 (50 free), 52.91 (100 free) and 1:00.64 (100 fly). She was a USA Swimming Futures qualifier and a Speedo Sectional Finalist. The daughter of Stephanie and Randy Miller plans to major in biology/pre-med at USD.

Madeline Schrank | Fly-IM | Blaine, Minn.
Competed in two state meets covering four events each meet for Blaine High School in Class AA. Recorded four ninth place finishes as a junior in 2022 in the 200 free, 100 fly, 200 medley relay and 400 free relay and is the school record holder in all four events. Placed ninth in the 100 fly and 11
th in the 200 free at the 2021 state meet. Recorded a pair of top five finishes at the 2023 Minnesota Long Course Championships, placing third in the 200 fly and fourth in the 400 IM. The National Honor Society member owns personal bests of 52.73 (100 free), 1:53.81 (200 free), 56.59 (100 fly), 2:03.13 (200 fly), 2:08.22 (200 IM) and 4:32.16 (400 IM). The daughter of Adam and Kellie Schrank plans to major in biology while at South Dakota.

Alexa Van Dyne | Fly-IM | Lakeville, Minn.
Competed in four events at the sectional meet for Lakeville North High School in Minnesota Class AA. Was a four-event participant at the Minnesota Class AA True Team State Championships. Primary events are the 100 fly and 200 IM where she owns personal bests of 1:01.66 and 2:17.19, respectively. The honor roll student and team captain was an all-conference honorable mention selection. The daughter of Steve and Shelly Van Dyne plans to major in physical therapy while at South Dakota. Follows older sister Ashley, a five-year member of the swim/dive team, to USD.

Abby Wilcox | Back | Des Moines, Iowa
A four-year state qualifier competing in 10 events for Dowling Catholic High School in Iowa's one-class system. Helped the Maroons finish as state runners-up as a senior in 2023 by placing sixth in the 100 back, 16
th in the 100 fly and on a third-place 200 medley relay. Placed fourth in the 100 back as a junior while swimming on a fourth-place 200 medley relay as Dowling finished second at state. Recorded two top 10 finishes at the Iowa Long Course Championships in 2023 with a fifth in the 200 back and a sixth in the 100 back. The National Honor Society member and Presidential Honor Roll student owns personal bests of 57.57 (100 back) and 2:04.45 (200 back). The daughter of Kristin Wilcox plans to study marketing while at USD.

Will Barth | Free-Fly | Saint Paul, Minn.
A three-time top eight place winner at the 2023 Class A state meet while competing for Saint Thomas Academy. Helped the Cadets finish as state runners-up as a team while placing third in the 500 free, fifth in the 200 free and eighth as part of the 400 free relay. Was 15
th in the 500 free at the state meet as a sophomore in 2022 as the team placed third. The Eagle Award for Academics recipient was a four-time top eight place finisher at the 2023 Minnesota Senior Long Course Championships finishing third in the 1500 free, fourth in the 800 free and 200 fly and eighth in the 400 free. Has a personal best in the 500 free of 4:39.55. The son of Bill Barth and Nicole Barth plans to study business at South Dakota.

Jordan Hogue | Back-Free | New Ulm, Minn.
A nine-event state meet participant over his first three seasons while swimming for Mankato East in Minnesota Class A. Placed in the top seven in all four events as a junior in 2023 to earn all-state honors, finishing third in the 100 free and 100 back while helping the Cougars place second in the 400 free relay and seventh in the 200 medley relay. Swam on relay teams that finished second in the 200 medley and third in the 400 free as a sophomore in 2022. Future's qualifier in two events and a Speedo sectionals qualifier in three events. Owns personal bests of 51.40 (100 back) and 46.90 (100 free). The sone of Michelle Hogue and Jeffrey Hogue plans to study business at USD.

Luke Kelley | Distance Free | Cedar Rapids, Iowa
A two-year and five-event state qualifier while competing for Linn-Mar High School in Iowa's one-class system. Earned All-American honors by helping the Lions finished third in the 400 free relay at state meet as a sophomore. Also that season placed eighth in the 500 free. Finished ninth at state as a freshman in the 500 free and 14
th in the 200 free. Competed in four individual events at the 2023 USA Swimming Futures Championships finishing seventh in the 1500 free and ninth in the 800 free. Has personal bests of 4:44.47 in the 500 free and 1:44.65 in the 200 free. The son of Bobby and Andrea Kelley plans to major in computer science while at South Dakota.

Ethan LaBounty | Breast-IM | Lakeville, Minn.
A seven-event state qualifier over the last two seasons in Minnesota Class AA for Lakeville South High School. Received All-State honors as a junior after finishing sixth in the 200 IM and eighth in the 100 breast to go with swimming on a third place 200 medley relay and eighth place 400 free relay. Placed third in the 400 free relay and 11
th in the 200 medley relay as a sophomore while swimming in the 200 IM prelims. Has personal bests in the 100 breast of 57.33 and 200 IM of 1:54.64. The son of Jeff and Karen LaBounty, a National Honor Society member, plans to study biology at USD.

David Mayer | Free | Weston, Wis.
An 11-event state meet qualifier over his first three seasons while competing for D.C. Everest High School in Wisconsin Class 1. Has made the podium in the 200 free all three years with finishes of fifth, sixth and fourth, respectively. Made the podium twice in the 100 free with finishes of third as a junior and fifth as a sophomore. Helped The Trees finished second in the 200 free relay and sixth in the 400 free relay in the 2023 state meet on way to earning Northeast Wisconsin Swimmer of the Year honors. Recorded four top eight finishes at the 2023 Wisconsin Short Course State Championships. Owns personal bests of 45.08 (100 free) and 1:40.08 (200 free). The son of Ann and Scott Mayer will join older sister Sara on the South Dakota roster and plans to be an exploratory studies major.

Collin Montgomery | Diving | Overland Park, Kan.
A two-time state finalist in Kansas Class 6A while competing for Blue Valley West High School. Placed 13
th in the one-meter diving competition at the state meet two consecutive seasons scoring 359.35 as a junior and 351.90 as a sophomore. The National Honor Society member also competed in track and field for the Jaguars. The son of Brooke Montgonery plans to major in medical biology while at South Dakota.

Alex Parkinson | Distance Free | Naperville, Ill.
Won the state championship in the 500 free as a junior in 2023 while competing for Neuqua Valley High School in Illinois' one-class system. Swam his personal best and school record time of 4:29.28 in the 500 free prelims at state. Was 11
th in the 500 free in the 2022 state meet as a sophomore. Competed in three individual events at the Speedo Junior National Championships in 2023 after recording three top eight finishes at Speedo Sectionals. Owns personal bests in yards of 9:19.59 (1000 free) and 15:30.44 (1650 free) and in long course meters of 8:24.90 (800 free) and 16:04.35 (1500 free). The son of Ryan and Rei Parkinson plans to study computer science/computer engineering at South Dakota.

Nick Rounds | Back-Free | West Des Moines, Iowa
A 10-event state qualifier in Iowa's one-class system over his first three seasons competing for Dowling Catholic High School. He placed second in the 50 free and third in the 100 back at the 2023 state meet while also helping the Maroons place 10
th in the 400 free relay. He was eighth in the 50 free and 11
th in the 100 back as a sophomore in 2022. The Presidential Honor Roll student was a three-time top eight placer in the Iowa Long Course State Championships in 2023. Also competed in track and field at Dowling. He is the school record holder in the 100 back (49.43) and owns personal bests of 20.73 (50 free), 46.95 (100 free), 1:56.32 (200 back) and 1:46.12 (200 free). The son of Patrick and Michelle Rounds plans to major in business while at South Dakota.

James Schreiber | Free-Fly | Peyton, Colo.
Recorded top ten finishes in the 100 fly and 200 free as a sophomore and junior at the Colorado Class 5A state meet while competing for Pine Creek High School. The school record holder in the 200 free placed fifth as a sophomore and eighth as a junior at state. Was 10
th in the 100 fly as a sophomore and fourth as a junior. Was a four-event top 10 finisher at the 2023 Colorado Long Course Championships, winning the 200 IM while placing fourth in the 100 fly, seventh in the 100 free and 10
th in the 50 free. Â Owns personal bests of 45.78 (100 free), 1:40.12 (200 free), 49.85 (100 fly), 2:01.05 (200 fly), 1:53.65 (200 IM) and 4:15.90 (400 IM). The son of Paul and Irina Schreiber plans to major in computer science while at South Dakota.

Xander Taylor | Fly-Back | Colorado Springs, Colo.
A member of the back-to-back state champions Cheyenna Mountain High School team competing in Class 4A in Colorado. Placed third in the 200 free and fourth in the 100 back in the 2022 state meet. Recorded a pair of eighth place finishes in the 400 IM and 100 fly at the 2023 Colorado Long Course Championships. Competed in five events at the 2023 Speedo Sectionals. Recorded four top 10 finishes at the 2022 Colorado Long Course Championships. The honor roll student also competed in Lacrosse while in high school. Has personal bests of 51.03 (100 back), 1:59.23 (200 back), 50.24 (100 fly) and 1:50.70 (200 fly). The son of Anne and Clay Taylor plans to major in kinesiology at South Dakota.

Mason Turner | Fly-IM | Cedar Rapids, Iowa
Record a trio of top four finishes, winning the 400 free and 800 free and finishing fourth in the 200 free, at the 2023 Iowa Long Course Championships while also participating in five relays. Went on to swim in five individual events at the 2023 USA Swimming Futures Championships, placing third in the 400 free, sixth in the 400 IM and ninth in the 200 fly. Competed in four Iowa High School state meet events as a sophomore for Cedar Rapids Kennedy earning all-state honors with a fourth-place finish in the 500 free. Recorded three top six finishes at the 2022 USA Swimming Futures Championships. The current Linn-Mar High School student was a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American. Owns personal bests of 53.22 (100 fly), 1:51.06 (200 fly), 1:54.08 (200 IM) and 3:56.89 (400 IM). The son of Brian and Shelly Turner is undecided on a major to study at USD.
