01.30.2024

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.—South Dakota juniors Eerik Haamer and Cassidy Mooneyhan have been named the Summit League Peak Performers of the Week for the period ended Jan. 28. The pole vault duo sweep the league's field event weekly honors.

Haamer, hailing from Tartu, Estonia, garners the weekly award for the fifth time of his career. Haamer was the top collegiate finisher in the men's pole vault at the USD Alumni Meet. He cleared a season-best height of 17-3 ¾ (5.28m). The height leads the Summit League and ranks 29th nationally this season.

Mooneyhan, a native of Pea Ridge, Arkansas, picks up her first career accolade from the league. Mooneyhan won the women's pole vault competition at the USD Alumni Meet with a vault of 14-2 (4.32m). The height leads the Summit and is tied for 12th nationally. The mark also ties her personal best from a year ago.

South Dakota has had a vaulter capture the league's weekly accolade following every meet this season. Senior Marshall Faurot was twice named the Summit's Peak Performer of the Week this season.

South Dakota returns to action with the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational this Friday and Saturday in Lincoln, Nebraska.
