Homer, Neb. — South Dakota men's golf opened day one of their home tournament with two separate competing teams.
South Dakota (A)
The first set of five golfers for the Coyotes put up a round score of 394 (+2), putting them in fifth place among the 12 competing teams. The Coyotes carded 16 birdies in total for round one.
Sophomore,
Cole Witherow, shot an outstanding round of golf that put him in second place. Witherow alone had four of the 16 birdies and ended the night with an eagle on hole No. 18. He carded a stroke count of 69 (-4) for round one.
South Dakota (B)
The second group of Yotes put up a round score of 308. Stand-out for the day,
Joe Rohlwing (So.), cared a round one score of 71 which put him tied for third. Rohlwing accounted for six of the 14 total birdies made by the team.
