MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota – South Dakota set a pair of school records in relays on day one of the Summit League Championships on Wednesday at the Freeman Aquatic Center.

The men's and women's quartets in the 200 medley relay each set school record times while finishing as league runners-up and earning All-Summit League honors.

The women's foursome of
Grace Schultz,
Taylor Buhr,
Sara Mayer and
Emily Kahn clocked 1:40.56 to nearly take a full second off the previous school record time of 1:41.35.

The men's team of
Adam Fisher,
Jack Berdahl,
Jacob Carlson and
Zachary Kopp finished in 1:25.36 while placing second, defeating the old record time of 1:26.23.

South Dakota women placed second in the 800 free relay and just missed the school record as the team of
Gabbie Ahrendt,
Skyler Leverenz,
Carson White and
Tatum O'Shea clocked 7:22.52. Ahrendt, a freshman, led off in 1:49.99 to move up one spot to fourth all-time.

The Coyote men placed fourth in the 800 free relay as the team of
Matthew Sorbe,
Parker Sonnabend,
Mack Sathre and Carlson finished in 6:39.52.

Charlie Matthews, a freshman, placed seventh in the men's one-meter diving competition with a final point total of 251.45.

The second day of the four-day championships on Thursday begins with prelims at 10 a.m. followed by the women's one-meter diving prelims at 12:30 and then the finals at 6 p.m.
