Larkins, Holmes recognized in Summit postseason awards

03.07.2024

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.—South Dakota junior guard Grace Larkins was voted to the all-Summit League first team for the second consecutive season by the league's coaches, media, and sports information directors. In addition, fourth-year junior guard Kendall Holmes was named to the Summit League all-newcomer team.

Larkins is one of four players in the nation averaging more than 16 points, seven rebounds and five assists per game. She leads the Coyotes in all three categories while shooting 49.6 percent from the floor and 37.4 percent behind the arc. She's tallied 24 double-figure games, nine 2-point games and five double-doubles on the year.

A native of Altoona, Iowa, Larkins is one of six Coyotes with more than 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 300 assists at USD. She's chasing USD's career top-10 charts in each category as well.

South Dakota's had a first team all-Summit pick in 12 of 13 seasons inside the Summit League.

Holmes, hailing from Plainfield, Illinois, becomes the first Coyote named to the Summit's all-newcomer team since 2021. The DePaul transfer was the Coyotes' second-leading scorer at 11.4 points per game. Her team-high 65 threes ranks third in the league and ties her season total from a year ago. She's one of eight Coyotes since 2000 to record four or more games in a single season with at least five 3-pointers. Holmes has tallied 17 double-figure games with three 20-point games on the year.

The duo of Larkins and Holmes led South Dakota in scoring for 26 of 31 games this season.
