BOULDER CITY, Nev.— South Dakota sits in ninth place in a 12-team field after day one of the Jackrabbit Invitational in Boulder City, Nevada. Nick LaMotte leads the Yotes with a score of 2-over par, good for a tie for twelfth place. He finished the first round 1-under par after scoring five birdies.The Coyotes as a team had a score of 26-over par.
Logan Hamak finished second for the Yotes after hitting 4-over par, which is tied for 19th place. In the second round, Hamak had four birdies, doubling his total from round one.
Max Schmidtke was five strokes behind Hamak at 9-under par overall, good for a tie in 38th place. After the first round, Schmidtke was 6-over par and battled his way back in the second round after finishing with three birdies, finishing the second round 3-over par.
Cole Withrow finishes the day shooting 11-over par which currently has him tied at 50. In the second round, Winthrow made an Eagle on hole two while also finishing with two birdies.
Ryan Neff sits in a tie for 59th place with an overall score of 13-over par. He was 10-over par in the first round and sits at 3-over par in the second.
Three Coyotes are playing as individuals in this tournament. Freshman Joe Rohlwing is currently tied for 12th with an overall score of 2-over par. He finished both the first and second round 1-over par. Freshman Parker Etzel has an overall score of 18-over par. Danny Renner is in a tie for 81 with a score of 21-over par.
South Dakota State leads the field at 7-over par. There is currently a three-way tie for first with the Gauchos' Blake McGovern, the Jackrabbits' Bryson Mercier and the Fighting Hawks' Brandon McGarry as they lead the field with 3-under par score.
