IOWA CITY, Iowa – South Dakota swimming and diving team recorded seven top 10 finishes on Friday at the Central Zone Speedo Sectionals long course meters meet sponsored by USA Swimming held at the University of Iowa Campus Recreation and Wellness Center.

The Coyotes had four athletes reach the 'A' final in their respective event during the evening finals session that saw four individual event finals contested.

Emily Kahn and
Gabbie Ahrendt posted the highest finishes from the women's team while
Jacob Carlson and
Joaquin Contreras-Fallico were the top men's finishers.

Meanwhile, the women placed second in the 400 free relay and the men third.
Â
Kahn, a junior, placed third in the 100 meter freestyle while Ahrendt, a freshman, was sixth. Kahn narrowly missed her personal best when she finished in 57.02 while Ahrendt posted a personal best time of 58.07.

Carlson, a senior, was sixth in the men's 100 meter free 'A' final in a time of 51.99 while freshman
Joaquin Contreras-Fallico was seventh in the 100 backstroke in 2:10.31.

Zachary Kopp, a fifth-year senior, was 10
th in the 100 free with a time of 52.46, a personal best.

The women's foursome of Kahn,
Skyler Leverenz, Ahrendt and
Carson White clocked 3:56.03 while the men's quartet of Kopp,
Parker Sonnabend, Carlson and
Adam Fisher finished in 3:31.40.
