BOULDER CITY, Nev.— The South Dakota golf team wrapped the third and final round of play at the Jackrabbit Invitational in Boulder City, Nevada on Saturday.
Nick LaMotte &
Logan Hamak led the way for the Yotes tying for 23
rd place. As a team the Yotes finished tied for 7
th place.
LaMotte & Hamak recorded a 7-over par score of 223. Hamak recorded score of 74, 74 and 75 while LaMotte carded scores of 71, 75 and 77.
Cole Witherow finished tied for 38
th place after carding a 11-over par score of 227. He finished the final round even on the day. Next up for the Yotes was
Ryan Neff who jumped 12 spots on the final day after shooting par in the final 18 holes. Neff recorded scores of 82, 75 and 72 for a total score of 229. Sitting tied for 47
th place was
Max Schmidtke who finished with a 13-over par score of 229.
Leading the way for the Coyotes as an individual was
Joe Rohlwing finishing tied for 19
th place after carding spring best scores of 73, 73 and 76 for a total score of 222.
Danny Renner in his first action of the spring finished in 78
th place. Renner compiled scores of 79, 86 and 75 for a total score of 240. Rounding out the field for the Yotes was
Parker Etzel finishing tied for 79
th place. He finished with a 26-over par score of 242.
As a team, the Coyotes recorded a 33-over par score of 897. They jumped two spots on the final day and finished three strokes back from fellow conference foe North Dakota. South Dakota State captured the team title with a final score of 4-over par to finish three strokes ahead of second place finisher UC Santa Barbara. SDSU's Bryson Mercier captured the individual title with a 5-under par score of 211.
The Coyotes are back in action on April 1-2 when they travel to University Park, Washington to compete in the SU Invite at Chambers Bay hosted by Seattle U.
