IOWA CITY, Iowa – South Dakota swimming and diving team recorded 11 top 10 finishes, including a title, on Saturday at the Central Zone Speedo Sectionals long course meters meet sponsored by USA Swimming and held at the University of Iowa Campus Recreation and Wellness Center.

The Coyote men's foursome of
Adam Fisher,
Jack Berdahl,
Jacob Carlson and
Zachary Kopp swam 3:51.32 to claim the win in the 400 medley relay. Kopp, a fifth-year senior, anchored in 52.51 seconds.

Carlson and
Gabbie Ahrendt swam to second place finishes and
Grant Wolner added a third-place effort to highlight the Coyotes individual efforts during the finals session that saw four events contested.

Carlson, a senior, swam a personal best 55.54 to place second in the 100 fly while teammate Wolner, also a senior, clocked a personal best 55.59 for third. Both times are qualification times for the Junior Nationals.

Ahrendt, a freshman, swam to a personal best 2:06.34 in the morning prelims of the 200 free and came back to finish second in the 'A' final in 2:06.42.

Sara Mayer, a junior, won the 'B' final of the 100 fly to place ninth in 1:04.08, a new personal best.

Carson White,
Matthew Sorbe and Berdahl all posted 10
th place finishes while the South Dakota women's team finished fourth and eighth in the 400 medley relay and the men's second team was sixth.

White, a sophomore, swam 2:08.70 in the 200 free while Sorbe posted a time of 1:57.40 in the same event as each competed in the 'B' final. As did Berdahl, who edged teammate
Parker Sonnabend to the wall in 2:25.24 while Sonnabend finished in 2:27.44 in the 200 breast.
