Kinney, Kautz selected as Summit League Peak Performers

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.—South Dakota seniors Erin Kinney and Dylan Kautz were selected as the Summit League's Peak Performers of the Week presented by TicketSmarter for the period ended April 28.
 
Kinney, a native of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, collects her 13th career weekly honor from the league office. Kinney captured a pair of Drake Relays championship flags over the weekend. She edged out the competition to win the 100 meters by one-thousandth of a second, clocking 11.51 seconds for first. She had posted the fastest time in the preliminary as well with a mark of 11.36 seconds. Kinney was a part of two school record setting relays on the weekend, running on the Coyotes' victorious 4x200-meter relay that posted a record mark of 1:34.24 and leading off the Coyotes' sprint medley relay en route to a school record time of 3:51.54.
 
Kautz, who hails from Norfolk, Nebraska, garners the first weekly honor from the Summit in his career. Kautz anchored the Coyotes' runner-up 4x100-meter relay at the Drake Relays to a school record time of 39.82 seconds. He also posted a personal best time of 10.36 seconds in the preliminary of the open 100 meters and went on to finish fifth in the 100-meter final at Drake.
 
South Dakota wraps up the regular season on Friday with the USD Tune-Up at Lillibridge Track Complex in Vermillion.
