VERMILLION, S.D. – South Dakota men's basketball announced the addition of Chase Forte to the 2024-25 roster. Forte is a 6-4 senior guard from Northwestern State.

Forte spent last season at Northwestern State where he made 29 starts in 32 games. Forte averaged 9.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.7 steals per game as a junior for the Demons. He scored a season-high 25 points at Texas A&M Commerce on 9-of-17 shooting from the field and grabbed a season-high 10 rebounds.

The Raleigh, North Carolina, native spent two seasons at Gulf Coast State and one season at UNC Asheville prior to his time at Northwestern State. Forte started 28 games as a sophomore at Gulf Coast State, averaging a team-best 20.1 points and 5.8 assists per game. He was named to the all-FCSAA and all-NJCAA Region 8 teams as a sophomore. He started 25 games as a freshman at Gulf Coast, averaging 13 points and 5.9 assists per game.

Forte prepped at Word of God Academy where he averaged 12 points, eight assists, and six rebounds per game as a senior.

The son of Carl and Tanya Forte, Forte plans to major in general studies at South Dakota.
