VERMILLION, S.D.—A pair of home meets including the Summit League Championships, a trip to pre-nationals in Wisconsin and a trip to Mizzou highlight the Coyotes' cross country schedule for the fall of 2024 announced today by head coach
Nolan Fife.
South Dakota hosts the Summit League Cross Country Championships for the second time in program history and for the first time since 2017. The Coyotes are the defending conference champions on the women's side and have won six Summit League titles all-time. Both the championship meet and the season-opening Coyote Invitational will be held at the Bluffs Course in Vermillion. The Coyote Classic season opener is set for Friday, Aug. 30, with the Summit League Championships scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 2.
The Coyotes will make the program's debut at pre-nationals this season. The Wisconsin Pre-Nationals are set for Oct. 19 at Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course in Madison, Wisconsin.
Other regular season meets include the Gans Creek Invitational in Columbia, Missouri, and the Platte River Rumble – Gold at near Ashland, Nebraska. The Coyotes make a return trip to both meets following initial appearances during Fife's inaugural season in 2022. The Mizzou meet will be held at Gans Creek Cross Country Course while the Platte River Rumble will be held at Eugene T. Mahoney State Park near Ashland, Nebraska.
Bradley hosts the NCAA Midwest Regional on Friday, Nov. 15, at Newman Golf Course in Peoria, Illinois. Should either the men or women finish in the top two at that meet or receive a wildcard bid, they would advance to the 2024 NCAA Championships in Wisconsin on Saturday, Nov. 23.
