SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — The University of South Dakota men's basketball team will open the 2025 calendar year with Summit League play on Thursday, January 2 to open the 16-game league slate as the league office announced the 2024-25 conference schedule on Wednesday.
 
The Coyotes will open league play on the road at Kansas City on January 2. The Summit League home opener will be the following Saturday, January 4, when the Denver Pioneers make the trip to Vermillion and the Sanford Coyote Sports Center (SCSC).
 
The following week the Yotes have the mid-week day off but will hit the road for the Twin Cities to battle the Tommies of the University of St. Thomas on Saturday, January 11 in St. Paul, Minnesota.
 
The third week of league play will see both games inside the SCSC when the Yotes will play host to both Oral Roberts (Jan. 16) and North Dakota State (Jan. 18). The week of January 20 will be a road trip for the Yotes as they visit Grand Forks to battle the University of North Dakota (Jan. 23) and Brookings for the Jackrabbits (Jan. 25).
 
The first round of league games concludes with a home contest inside the SCSC on Wednesday, January 29 with the Mavericks of the University of Nebraska Omaha coming to town.
 
To start the month of February and the second rotation of the home-and-away Summit League schedule, USD will hit the road the week of February 3. The road trip starts with a journey into the mountain time zone to face Denver in Denver on Thursday, February 6; followed by a trip to Tulsa, Oklahoma on February 8 to face the Golden Eagles of Oral Roberts.
 
The longest home streak of the conference slate begins on February 13 when Kansas City comes to town. That Saturday, February 15, South Dakota State makes the return trip down to Vermillion. St. Thomas wraps up the homestand on Wednesday, February 19.
 
Prior to the final week of the conference season, the Coyotes will make the trip down to Omaha, Nebraska to battle the Mavericks on Saturday, February 22.
 
The final week of the regular season will see the Coyotes complete the season series with both North Dakota schools. Starting with the final road trip of the regular season, USD will head to Fargo to face North Dakota State on February 26. The regular season finale will be inside the SCSC when the Fighting Hawks of the University of North Dakota come to town.
