VERMILLION, S.D. — The University of South Dakota men's basketball team announced its full 2024-25 schedule Friday. The Coyotes will open the season with three straight home games at the Sanford Coyote Sports Center beginning on November 4 against Southern University.
 
The Coyotes will officially open the season with a three-game homestand at the Sanford Coyote Sports Center, beginning on Monday, November 4 at 8:00 p.m. against Southern University. South Dakota fans will be treated to a doubleheader in the SCSC that day, as the Coyote women's basketball team plays at 5:30 p.m. against Saint Louis. USD then faces Texas A&M Commerce on November 6 and rounds out the week by hosting Mount Marty on November 10.
 
The Coyotes will have two scrimmages prior to the beginning of the season on October 19 against SIU-Edwardsville in Kansas City, Missouri and Drake on October 26 in Des Moines, Iowa.
 
South Dakota faces its first of two Big 10 opponents on the season on November 12 when the Coyotes travel to Iowa City, Iowa to face the Hawkeyes at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Later in the month, USD will head to Lincoln, Nebraska for meeting with the Huskers on November 27 at Pinnacle Bank Arena. The game times against the Hawkeyes and Huskers will be announced by the Big 10 at a later date.
 
Following the game at Iowa, USD returns home briefly to host Dakota Wesleyan on November 14, before heading East the following week for games at Western Michigan and Southern Indiana on November 20 and 22, respectively.
 
South Dakota faces Idaho State and Northern Arizona in early December for the Big Sky – Summit League Challenge. The Coyotes host the Bengals on December 4 at the SCSC, and will head to Flagstaff, Arizona on the December 7 to face the Lumberjacks.
 
The Coyotes have three other home games at the SCSC before the turn of the New Year against Randall (Nov. 25), Wyoming (Dec. 10) and Western Illinois (Dec. 14).
 
USD begins Summit League play in Kansas City, Missouri on January 2 against Kansas City.
