VERMILLION, S.D. — The Coyote Swim and Dive team will open the 2025-26 season Friday, October 3 at 5 p.m. with a home meet. The men's team will be hosting Augustana in a Dual meet while the women's team simultaneously hosts Minnesota State. 
 
This is the first of five home meets that will be held in Vermillion this year, as USD will also host Iowa State (Friday, October 24), the Coyote Extravaganza (Friday, October 31-Saturday, November 1), South Dakota State (Friday, January 24), and the Coyote Invite (Friday, January 30-Saturday, January 31).
 
Following the meet at 9:15 p.m. USD will be lighting fireworks from the south Polaris parking lot to celebrate the inaugural meet in the USD Natatorium. 
 
Last season USD, behind nine individual All-Summit League performances on the women's side and six on the men's side, finished in second place in the team standings in both divisions. The women's team recorded 712 points to earn their fourth straight runner-up finish and sixth in the last seven seasons while the men's team had 697.5 points and were runners-up for the fifth time in the last eight years.
