VERMILLION, S.D. – Coyote fans now have the chance to make their mark on the court in a meaningful new way. The University of South Dakota Men's Basketball program is launching a December auction that will allow one lucky supporter to collaborate directly with the team to design the official warmup shirts worn during the January 29th, 2026 Coaches vs. Cancer game at the Sanford Coyote Sports Center at 7pm.
This unique opportunity gives fans the ability to help shape the look, message, and spirit of the warmup gear the Coyotes will proudly wear as they take the floor in support of the American Cancer Society—creating a powerful and visible statement in the fight to end cancer as we know it, for everyone.
In South Dakota, an estimated 5,870 new cancer cases will be diagnosed this year, and nearly 1,790 South Dakotans are expected to lose their lives to the disease. During USD's Coaches vs. Cancer game, fans are invited to join the American Cancer Society in supporting patients and families right here at home. Funds raised help provide essential services such as free rides to treatment, lodging for families who must travel, and critical resources that make cancer care more accessible for South Dakotans.
The December auction will allow supporters to place bids at: https://cvcusd.givesmart.com
Bidding will remain open until December 31st, 2025.
The winning bidder will work alongside Coyote Athletics to design the final warmup shirt, incorporating meaningful colors, themes, or messages that highlight cancer awareness and Coyote pride.
Fans are encouraged to join the Coyotes on January 29 at 7 p.m. as USD shines a spotlight on the Coaches vs. Cancer initiative and unveils the fan-designed warmup shirts on game day.
