FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – A handful of season bests and new personal bests highlighted a strong first day of the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Arkansas Friday night.

Averi Schmeichel ran a new personal best 8.42 seconds in the 60-meter hurdle qualifying race, finishing .01 seconds off tying the school record in the event. Her time was also quick enough to advance to the semifinals in the event, where she ran 8.45 to place 15
th. In the men's 60-meter hurdle qualifying,
Jaden Damiano ran 7.98 in qualifying to advance to the semis. He improved on his time in the semifinals, running 7.95 for 11
th place.

Sara Reifenrath had her best race of the season to this point in the 400-meters invitational section. Her time of 53.31 is a season's best and the top time in the Summit League entering competition Friday.
Sydney Stodden had a personal best in the 400, running 57.27.

In her first race since the USD Alumni Meet,
Erin Kinney ran 7.35 seconds in the 60-meters to qualify for the semifinals. In the semifinals, she ran 7.41 to place 13
th overall.

In the men's pole vault invitational section,
Eerik Haamer jumped a season's best 18-3 (5.56m) to place fourth in the event. Haamer increases his conference lead in the event with the result.
Spencer Buley cleared 17-5 for seventh.

Wyatt Stewart landed on the podium in the men's pole vault competition with a height of 16-10 ¾ (5.15 meters) for second place. That mark ties a personal best for him and has him tied for fourth in the Summit League this season.
Tre Young took fourth at 16-6 ¾ (5.05m).

The Coyotes will be back in action tomorrow morning, starting with the women's pole vault at 10:30 a.m.

BROOKINGS, S.D. – Distance races and throwing events highlighted a majority of the evening inside the Sanford Jackrabbit Athletic Complex Friday night on day one of the SDSU Classic.

In throwing events,
Delaney Smith and
Lydia Knapp both made the finals in the shot put and weight throw. Knapp took second in the weight throw with a mark of 64-6 ½ (19.67m) and ninth in the shot put at 44-7 ½ (13.60m). Smith took fourth in the shot put at 47-3 ½ (14.41m) and third in the weight throw at 61-9 (18.82m).

Isaac Ochoa had the top finish on the track for the Coyotes with a personal best 8:21.99 in the 3,000-meters to take second place.
Madison Brouwer took fourth in the 3,000-meters with a 9:55.96 clocking. Teammate
Mariah Fenske also broke 10 minutes with a time of 9:59.51 for eighth.

The Coyote men and women had a trio of top 10 finishes in the Friday sections of the 200-meters. On the women's side,
Caelyn Valandra took fourth and
Calli Davis ninth in times of 25.48 and 26.01 respectively. For the men,
Jaden Guthmiller ran 22.28 for eighth.

The Coyotes had one runner in the Friday section of the women's 800-meters as
Alexis Pagel ran 2:13.68 for sixth. In the men's section,
Evan Janzen ran 1:54.15 for seventh.

In the men's weight throw,
Wyatt Pruce took fifth at 57-11 ¼ (17.66m) and
Quincy Warren eighth at 56-4 ½ (17.18m).
