SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – South Dakota men's basketball's
Dre Bullock was named the Kwik Star Summit League Men's Basketball Peak Performer of the Week Monday afternoon.
Bullock, the senior from Franklinton, North Carolina, helped lead the Coyotes to a win over the conference leading Mavericks from Omaha Wednesday night with a career high 31 points. Bullock made his second career start as a Coyote and went 10-for-17 from the field with six 3-pointers, six rebounds and two steals in the win. Bullock helped the Yotes complete a 15-point comeback over the Mavs, as he scored 13 points on 4-of-6 shooting and a perfect 3-for-3 from deep in the second half.
Bullock's 31 points is tied for the sixth most points scored by a Summit League player in a single game this season. Bullock's the first Coyote to score 30 or more points in a game and first to knock down six or more triples in a contest this season.
Bullock capped off a 19-5 Coyote run with back-to-back 3-pointers that knotted the game up at 73-73 with 6:19 left in the game. After the Mavericks cut the USD lead to one, 86-85, Bullock's connected on his sixth trey and knocked down two free throws in the final 30 seconds to close out the Yotes win.
South Dakota hits the road this week for a pair of games at Denver on Thursday night at 8:00 p.m. in Denver Colorado. The Yotes will then travel to Tulsa, Oklahoma on Saturday for a 7:00 p.m. matchup with Oral Roberts.
