SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – South Dakota senior
Erin Kinney was named the Summit League Most Outstanding Performer of the Championship by the league's head coaches, announced by the conference office Tuesday. A total of 25 Coyotes, 13 men and 12 women, received all-Summit League honors during the championships.
Â
For Kinney, this is her second Most Outstanding Championship Performer honor of her career, as she won the award for the 2022-23 Championships as well. It is South Dakota's third Most Outstanding Championship Performer on the women's side in the last four indoor seasons.
Â
Kinney, a Sioux Falls, S.D. native, picked up a pair of event wins after missing a majority of the indoor season with an injury. Her 60-meter title was her third straight in the event and her 200-meter title was her second (2022-23 season being the other). Kinney tied her season's best in the 60-meters at 7.27 seconds in the prelims and won the event with a time of 7.32 seconds. In the 200-meters, Kinney ran a season's best 23.83 in the 200 to win that title as well.
Â
The Summit League also recognized all-Summit League performances from the weekend on Tuesday. To earn all-Summit League accolades, a student-athlete has to finish in the top three in their individual or relay event at the Championship meet.
