USD’s Haamer to compete at NCAA Indoor Championships

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – South Dakota's Eerik Haamer was announced as one of 16 men's pole vaulters competing at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in Virginia Beach, Virginia on Friday, March 14.
 
Haamer returns to the Indoor Championships for the first time since the 2021-22 season. Haamer's season best 18-3 ¾ (5.58-meters) at the SDSU Last Chance Meet was enough to get him into the field at the championships.
 
Entering the championships, Haamer is a four-time all-American in the pole vault, including being a First Team all-American outdoor last summer. Haamer was the Estonian National Champion in 2020-21 and has two Summit League titles to his resume.
 
NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP INFO
The NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, March 14 and 15 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The Competition will be streamed on ESPN+ Friday and Saturday with a rerun being broadcasted on ESPNU Sunday. Live results of the championships can be followed on Flash Results.
 
COYOTES AT THE NCAA'S
South Dakota Track and Field has a total of 24 individuals claim 66 all-American honors at the Division I level, including Haamer's four career honors. Chris Nilsen has the most Division I honors of any Coyote with seven. Of the 24 individuals and 66 honors, nine men have claimed 15 honors.
