VERMILLION, S.D. – South Dakota women's basketball head coach
Carrie Eighmey has announced the signing of transfer Katy Reyerson from Northern Iowa. She joins the Coyotes with two years of eligibility.

Reyerson is a 6-2 forward from Marshalltown, Iowa who spent the last two years playing for the Panthers. In her two years at UNI, Reyerson appeared in 26 games for an average of 7.6 minutes per game. She shot 51.4% from the field in limited action.

"We are excited about Katy and her future as a Yote!" Eighmey said. "Katy brings great length and versatility to our roster. She's good in transition, can stretch to 3, and can score around the rim. She will also be able to help our team on the defensive end and on the boards! Reyerson scored 51 points and grabbed 45 rebounds in 197 minutes at UNI. During her freshman year, she scored six points against Iowa State and grabbed 10 rebounds in a game against Evansville. She was MVC Honor Roll for her freshman season as well."

As a prep athlete, she participated in three sports for West Marshall High School. On the hardwood, Reyerson was a four-year starter and helped her school reach the State Tournament her senior season. She holds her high school's records in points in a game, blocks in a game and a career, and is the second all-time leading scorer and rebounder. During her senior season, she earned first team all-state honors from the Iowa Prints Sports Writers Association and second team honors from the Iowa Girls Coaches Association.

Reyerson totaled 1,574 points, 998 rebounds, 424 assists, 325 steals, and 204 blocks at West Marshall.
