South Dakota set to host Summit League Championships

VERMILLION, S.D. – The Summit League Outdoor Track and Field Championships are set to return to the Lillibridge Track Complex in Vermillion this week, starting Thursday afternoon.
 
MEET INFO
The Summit League Championships will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday with the combined events (women's heptathlon, men's decathlon), along with select field and track events. Friday's action gets underway with the combined events at Noon, with individual events beginning at 2 p.m. Field events get rolling Saturday at 11 a.m., with track events starting at 1 p.m.
 
Results from the weekend's action can be found on Dakota Timing. Live streams will be available on the Summit League Network. Full Summit League Championship info can be found on the Summit League's Championship website.

NATIONAL RANKINGS
In the fifth week of the USTFCCCA Outdoor Rankings, the Coyote women's pole vault squad ranks second in the nation with their top four vaulters all ranked inside the top 50 in the country. The men's pole vault squad ranks sixth.
 
In other top events for the Coyotes, the women rank 21st in the 400-meter hurdles, 22nd in the steeplechase, and 25th in the high jump.
 
South Dakota women come into the Summit League Championships ranked No. 11 in the Midwest Rankings, the top Summit League team in the region. The Coyote men remain at No. 14 in the Midwest Rankings. In the Summit League ratings, the Coyote women rank second and the men third.
